Welcome to the Newsletter...........And a special welcome to you new readers. Interesting Articles from both Rosemary and Peter this month and a lot of letters.....Here is Rosemary. HAIR LOSS IN MEN Hair loss is generally described as Alopecia. The most common type is Androgen tic Alopecia. Caused by hormone developments in the body and genetics. A man can expect hair loss at about the same age as his father. Other and more serious forms of Alopecia not covered in this article range from Anagen effluvium, usually caused by chemotherapy products, to total hair loss, Alopecia Totalis. As usual in common problems there is profusion of remedies and except for a tiny number of products they do not work Conventional Treatment. Ranges from hair lotions, tablets to hair transplant. Pharmaceutical products that are available include Finasteride tablets and Minoxidil lotion. Both are effective in many cases, but require specialist medical advice to gain most benefit. Transplant. Hair Transplants, removing hair from the back of the neck to the top of head. This can be successful but expensive. The Apparent Cure. Why not take advantage of the current fashion and have you head shaved? Many years ago there was a television detective who was bald and all the women were crazy about him. The Alternative . Using a Magnetic Hair Brush, containing a minimum of 1000 gauss magnets. Brushing a least two times a day. This works for women as well. In addition I invariably recommend a Magnetic Pillow. ARTICLE COMPLIANCE by Peter Rose FSI It seems that one of the largest problems faced by all medical care practitioners is compliance by the patient, to the regimes or medications that are advised. The number of people who take their antibiotics for 2 days and then stop is great. The number of patients who come for some form of physiotherapy and are sent away with daily exercise but actually only do them for one or two days in a week, is larger that those who comply properly. The worst case I have heard of is the lady who visited a herbal clinic, paid a large sum for consultation and a box or mixed herbs and then phoned to complain they were not working. When asked about the quantity of the herbs she had taken said none but I am not better yet ! CONSULTANT Whether you are a consultant, a GP a Shiatsu practitioner or a crystal healer It does require the active cooperation of the patients if any therapy or treatment is to succeed. With natural remedies, which often take longer to work that synthetic or drug type medicines, because they work in harmony with the body rather that fight against it, the problems of people giving up their supplement , vitamin or remedy before they have had time to help the body to make the gradual and gentle changes necessary, is very great. As a rule of thumb most natural things should be taken for 3 months before we measure the effectiveness. AN EXCEPTION Magnets can be an exception to this. In some cases of pain relief the application of magnets can have dramatic and relatively rapid results. Because of this magnets often make the ideal complement to other forms of therapy. Use the magnets to cope with the pain and symptoms, then remember that the absence of symptoms is not the same as good health, use the therapy of your choice to deal with the cause. FROM THE START May be it would help if we wrote down in detail our condition, capabilities and feelings prior to the start of treatment, set this aside but add notes of any non compliance on a daily basis, and then when tempted to stop compliance, or after 3 months of compliance (honest compliance) we read this pre treatment report again and check what changes have started to occur and just how long we have tried the treatment for. Continuous treatment or medication should only be necessary very rarely . Only in situations where the body has stopped functioning normally on a permanent basis should treatment on permanent basis be needed. If after a year you are undergoing any continuous treatment then consult your therapist/physician to check you are on the right course. Thank you for my order, I received my order this morning and the bracelet is great, could you please answer a question for me. in the catalogue in the please note section it says that you do not recommend the use of magnets while pregnant, for what reason is that, I would appreciate it if you could spare the time to tell me this.....UK
Because we do not know........we do know they are perfectly safe for adults......but no tests have ever been done on infants or pregnancy. We have never heard of any complications whatsoever, in fact a company in the USA sells a magnetic product for morning sickness. However again, we do not know.
So we recommend not using magnets whilst pregnant.
. MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS 'MS' (Many Letters) I was wondering if you have had any success with people who suffer from MS?

MAGNETIC BRACELETS & PAIN RELIEF I already have a magnetic bracelet which I wear on my left arm, but would like to know whether wearing another bracelet on my right arm, would be beneficial for my arthritic fingers in my left hand ?.....UK It certainly would not do you any harm. But I can not say it would increase the effect of the Bracelet you already have. A ring directly on the finger would probably help a lot more. Although Magnetic Bracelets help a lot of conditions and give many people a sense of 'well being' putting magnets on or near the painful/damaged area appears to be a far better and faster solution for 'pain relief'.
PAINFUL SHOULDERS (2 of many) (Does everyone have them ?) Thanks for newsletters, they are always interesting.
At this moment in time I am suffering from a frozen shoulder ( and for a therapist this is not good news!) Yes, I have read the books, but do you have any first hand suggestions/ help ?
Perhaps it may be a subject for inclusion in a newsletter? It is more common than even I realized.....UK-Therapist . Like the newsletter and continue to wear my magnets for a back problem, prolapsed disc L5 S1, and they seem to alleviate much of the pain I used to get unless I over do it. That isn't too hard as a sheep farmer in North Wales. I have another problem.....I have calcified tendons in both shoulders, which cause a lot of pain and interrupt sleep most nights. I am currently having acupuncture every 2 to 3 weeks, but feel I need to have more day to day pain control. I also want to use a method that will actually heal the tendons, rather than just manage pain. I have some small magnets with patches that i could use but am not too sure of how effective they are.....UK - Farmer
I too have a periodic shoulder problem, from an old 'sports injury' which comes on whenever my shoulder get very cold. I immediately use the Gold 9000 Spot Magnets and leave them on for 5/6 days.....this always corrects the condition 'usually within about 12/24 hours' I have never found anything to come close to these for effectiveness. Obviously they have not healed the damaged area.....but the do remove the pain. . PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY (Many Letters) Could you please advise me if magnetic insoles would help Peripheral Neuropathy in the feet caused by Diabetes. Can you please tell me what the best magnet therapy item is to treat high blood pressure with? There is such a wide variety of different items and I'm not sure what is best to go for.....USA
