Welcome to our April Newsletter........Bank Holiday weekend here in Great Britain and Memorial Day for all our US friends, so everyone enjoy the weekend break. There is still lots happening in the field of Magnetic Therapy (no pun intended). First here is Rosemary with a subject of interest for many people.
LOWER BACK PAIN

Last month I received a frantic telephone call from a golf professional asking me for an urgent appointment. He appeared to be in great pain in the lumber spine area. I inquired if he had been to see his doctor and what form of treatment he was presently undergoing. He explained that he had been attending his doctor who prescribed anti inflammatory tablets (NSAIDs) and had recommended physiotherapy twice weekly. On the telephone he sounded very depressed and was still in a great deal of pain two weeks later. Another member of his club had given him my name as some one who had helped them with a similar problem. As his condition seemed so painful I arranged to see him the following day.
Next day my new client arrived, he walked with the aid of a stick and was driven by his wife as he was unable to drive him-self.
On examination he explained that his doctor had diagnosed sciatica. Sciatica is described as ridiculer pain, pain that radiates into the lower thigh and calf along the sciatic nerve from the lower back region
Treatment
Application of large magnetic block to the base of the spine north pole to the skin plus two additional magnets one on each kidney. When the treatment was completed the client felt much improved the pain had almost gone and was able to walk to his car with out his stick. I gave him a further treatment later in the week and there was further improvement in his condition. After the treatment I applied a strip of small neodymium magnets to the area. I also recommended that he use a D-Max Neodymium Magnet to wear before and after playing golf. In addition wearing magnetic insoles would be of benefit, plus one litre of Magnetized water per day.
I emphasized the importance of continuing with his medical treatment, reducing his weight, to stop smoking and to spend less time at the nineteenth. Details of how to treat other ailments and details of how to make Magnetized water are in my book.

New research is underway at the south London and Maudsley hospital to map the human brain while volunteers are being given marijuana to see what affect the drug has on the mind. Dr Zerrin Atakan a psychiatrist at Lambeth hospital explains what will happen.

NORTH POLE COULD BE LEAVING CANADA
The North Magnetic Pole could soon abandon Canada, migrate north of Alaska and eventually wind up in Russia, according to a Canadian scientist.
The magnetic pole, which has steadily drifted for decades, has picked up its pace in recent years and could exit Canadian territory as soon as 2004, said Larry Newitt of the Geological Survey of Canada.
If the pole follows its present course, it will pass north of Alaska and arrive in Siberia in a half century, but Newitt cautioned that such predictions could prove wrong.
"Although it has been moving north or northwest for a hundred years, it is not going to continue in that direction forever. Its speed has increased considerably during the past 25 years, and it could just as easily decrease a few years from now," the geophysicist said. FULL CNN REPORT

MAGNETIC FIELDS, ASTROLOGY AND SCIENCE

A new book, "The scientific proof of astrology", attributes the influences and changes; caused by the alignment of stars and planets, to the magnetic influences of these bodies.
Since we know the magnetic effect of the moon causes changes to depth of sea water-tides-it does seem plausible that these same magnetic influences can have an effect of every aspect of life on planet earth.
So what more compelling reason is needed to extend this understanding, to the use of magnets for healing and maintenance of good health.
The human being is a complex organization of various physical and non physical components. The physical body, the emotions, the mind and the ethereal. The ethereal is multi-layered, with spirit at the core, but when we concern ourselves with "health" we are generally more concerned with the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of the humans involved.
MAGNETIC FIELDS AND EMOTIONAL WELL BEING
The uses of magnetic fields for improvements in blood flow, for use on meridians etc are well documented; the use of magnets in emotional wellbeing is less well understood and far more difficult to enumerate and evaluate. People are highly complex and the mental, emotional components are probably the most intricately interwoven and complex part on the whole. In Shiatsu certain points on the back are used as emotional test points. These points lie on "lines" that run down either side of the spine. At the top, near the neck, they represent our "internally generated" or self generated stresses and emotional tensions. While lower down, about in line with the bottom of the shoulder blades, the points relate to those stresses imposed on us by outside influences, the boss, the partner, the taxman etc.
The use of magnets on these points could smooth out tensions and slowly ease emotional stresses.

MAGNETIC OVERLAY & ELECTRIC BLANKET
I have your magnetic therapy underlay and would like to use an electric blanket with it,
is this ok? Thanks.....UK
There is only one small problem we know of, it may in the long term reduce the life of the magnets in the overlay if they are subjected to heat in excess of normal body temperature. And I do say 'may' because
we have never known this to actually happen. But 'magnets' are known too weaken when subjected to excessive heat.
LEG INJURY FOR SQUASH PLAYER
I play county squash and run all distances up to marathon. I have recently experienced a recurring injury in my left leg. It is on the outside of the leg about 2 inches above the ankle joint. It feels as though it is on the bone. The physio tells me it is not tendonitis. Can you recommend anything to help?...UK
The Gold 9000 Spot Magnets may certainly help. Put about four or five from the painful area towards the knee about an inch apart. They are very easy to use. Leave then on until the plasters start to deteriorate normally four or five days (depending on showering and perspiration). Then replace the magnets with new plasters in a
slightly different position. We stock the replacement plasters for them SP2 but you could cut up any good quality household plaster. The Gold 9000 magnets themselves will last up to ten years.
Obviously, you may not need them after five days, they can be used successfully for a variety of conditions though. The Gold 9000 are on page 21 of the Catalogue or here on our website. GOLD 9000
MAGNETIC STRENGTH and GAUSS
I recently purchased one of your expandable (uni-pole) bracelets mark 11 which is described as having 6 x 800 gauss unipole magnets. This I calculate to have a total strength of 4800 gauss!...UK
Gauss is the lifting power of a magnet.....not as you suggest a unit of 'energy'. A Product with 800 gauss magnets is still 800 gauss no matter how many magnets the product has. The strength of any magnetic product is defined by the 'gauss' the 'size' thickness and most important the 'magnetic field' it generates.
Neodymium (Rare Earth) gives off the strongest field, but not widest. Ferrite tends give off the widest field.
STIFF NECK

I have never tried magnetic therapy at all. Could you tell me as I suffer with a stiff neck, would a magnetic necklace been the appropriate piece of jewellery to try? I have sent off for your catalogue.

A necklace should help.......definitely in the long term. The Neck Wrap would probably work a little faster. Obviously they are not easy or comfortable to wear.

FOURTEEN YEAR OLD GYMNAST
I would just like to let you know that since my 14yr old daughter has been wearing her magnetic ankle support at night, her ankle injury, (sevvers) she had had great relief from pain, she has had this injury for over eight months now and we have had numerous visits to the chiropractor and physio. She is an up and coming gymnast and an ankle injury for her was absolute devastating as she was unable to practice certain moves in her routines. In just over three weeks of wearing the support she was able to enter into a competition this week end and to her delight she came first!!! I am slowly convincing her gym coaches and friends that magnetic therapy really works, so much so that two of my daughters gym friends have asked me to order ankle supports for them! could you also send me a couple of brochure so that I can leave them in the gym club for others to read.
