DEALING WITH HEALTH PROBLEMS by Peter Rose FSI
One of the most frequently asked questions is; how can I learn to treat myself and others? The time needed to find a practitioner, make appointments, fit these in with work; school runs and everything else in life make it all so difficult to get the prompt attention that will shorten recovery time. It is an odd thing about the way our modern society works, we do not have time to ensure that small problems get dealt with and do not develop into large ones. The ancient sages used to say a wise man never deals with large problems; he had always sorted out the small ones so they never grew. In England we have a saying "a stitch in time saves nine." A knee support wrapped round a "slight niggle" in a knee joint can prevent this becoming a week long painful experience.
Yet we are all guilty of neglecting small health problems because they do not stop us working or carrying out our "duties" to others and we are so busy we don't have time for such small matters. When the small health problem-and this can be emotional, mental or physical.-develops, through neglect, into a larger problem; then we have to use much more total time to deal with it.
