MAGNETIC THERAPY AND WRISTS

By Peter Rose FSI

The wrists are very complicated joints, if an engineer wanted to design something that could move in so many directions, carry loads, support the transmission of information (in both directions) through the structure, without compromising the movement or load bearing; then they would end up with a wrist joint.

Where the bones of the lower arm, the Ulna and Radius, arrive at the wrist there are 6 “carpal” bones. These are shaped to fit against each other and allow the movement. The metacarpal bones form the structure of the palm or base of the hand. The Phalanges of the fingers are joined to these.

With such a complex structure and the use in lifting, carrying, typing, and so much else; not to mention absorbing shock if we fall; it is no wonder we get problems in this area.

If you have a fall or any sudden “trauma” that results in immediate pain and loss of use, you should seek urgent medical attention. If the pain and deterioration of use, sort of creeps up on you and is then persistent then you should seek medical advice but you could also use magnets to help. Magnetic Therapy Ltd can provide a range of very useful and inexpensive things to help. Flexible wrist supports provide both light and flexible support to a wrist and also provides magnetic influence. You can also obtain real copper magnetic bracelets, which provide a less visually obtrusive magnetic treatment.

In order to promote Magnetic therapy and expand the number of people with knowledge to help others there are now “On Line” Courses in magnetic therapy. These are now available through Magnetic Therapy Ltd or you could look here.PRACTITIONER TRAINING COURSE Courses are designed to provide sufficient anatomy and physiology to ensure the magnets are used to the best advantage. (Specialist course are available for people who already have qualifications in these)
