PAINFUL SHOULDERS

The human shoulder is a complex structure of bone and muscle; as with all complex structures there exists the possibility of malfunction in any component part. Determining which part is the seat of the problem and what was the cause of that problem is not easy. Without X rays to look at the bones and MRI scans to look at the muscles, it is often very difficult to be precise in a diagnosis. In the event of broken bones, displaced joints and torn muscles, the patient will be aware – due to the event that caused the damage; the extreme pain and the loss of mobility—of the situation.

Remember that old injuries need care long after the initial recovery is complete.  Repair tissue is often only 60 to 70% as strong as original, so if you strain a known weak point  then as soon as possible after the straining, wear supports to prevent pain and problems from re-occurrence.
