NEES AND MAGNETIC KNEE WRAPS

Back To ARTICLE INDEX

Our knees are amazing bits of equipment. Two major bones meet, but should not actually connect with each other, and a third bone “floats” over the junction to protect it. The loading on our knees is huge and we can still turn the joint even under that load. We can fold the joint and turn at the same time. Up until we reach a more advanced number of years, most of the knee problems will be damage to the ligaments that hold the bones in place or to the “meniscus—medial and lateral” which is a cushion between the thigh bone (femur) and the shin bone (The tibia).  The splint bone (fibular) is joined to the thigh bone and to the shin bone by ligaments. The knee cap (patella) is held over the front of this junction by strong tendons. With so many flexible connections and such high loadings, it is no surprise we have problems. These can be over stretching any of the ligaments to impact damage to the cushion. If there is actual structural damage with torn tissues, broken bones, swelling, severe pain and loss of movement, you should have a though investigation by a qualified expert. If the condition is not that severe and during recovery after the intervention by a suitably qualified person, the use of magnetically enhanced knee protectors may be of great benefit. Magnetic Therapy Ltd can supply a choice of very good flexible knee supports, which fasten with Velcro and have a large number of carefully positioned magnets, intended to speed recovery.

Remember that repair tissue is often only 60 to 70% as strong as original, so if you strain a known weak point then as soon as possible after the straining, apply magnets around the site of previous injury to prevent pain and problems from re-occurrence.

In order to promote Magnetic therapy and expand the number of people with knowledge to help others there are now “On Line” Courses in magnetic therapy. These are now available through Magnetic Therapy Ltd or you could look at web site. MAGNET THERAPY PRACTITIONER TRAINING COURSE  The courses are designed to provide sufficient anatomy and physiology to ensure the magnets are used to the best advantage. (Specialist course are available for people who already have qualifications in these)
