MAGNETIC INFLUENCE By Peter Rose FSI
Magnetic influence, which is all around us all of our lives, can be harnessed to improve our health. This is not a new concept, it is said that the ancient Egyptian Pharos used magnets to preserve their youth and to heal their ills, but it is time science and "the establishment", took a fresh look at the idea of using magnets to relieve our pain.
Magnets are used to improve flows of water along pipes, so why not the flow of blood along an artery? Those of us who have used magnets, to help with pain relief and the speeding up of the natural healing process, know the benefits. Used correctly, and that is the critical need, magnets and many other natural therapies, could help relieve the health care crisis in the UK and in other countries where high tech, high price chemicals are too expensive. The problems to be overcome are firstly, in highly developed nations, the strong grip that large multinational chemical companies have over the decision makers and fund holders. Secondly we need independent proof of the claims made of the benefits. We all know that nothing works every time in every case and we all know that the chemical business will exploit the one failure out of ten cases and claim that natural remedies are more dangerous than their poisons.
MORE RESEARCH We need high quality research with published honest data ( Not data that is directed to prove the position of the funding pharmaceutical company) that will explore all the ways magnets can be used to give benefit; from improving blood flow to slow release acupuncture, from enhanced water to variable wavelength pulse equipment. From low tech to high tech. This research needs to be--- as with all research into natural therapies-- independent but have the parameters and guidelines set out by experienced practitioners, just as research into new chemical interventions is guided by and have the datum points and objectives set out by, allopathic trained doctors and chemists. I do not want to be misunderstood. I earnestly believe that there is a huge benefit from chemical drugs and surgical processes. My contention is that natural therapies should be part of a total health care concept. I am not a believer in conflict between natural and unnatural remedies. I just wished the government agencies and bureaucrats would share this belief and stop treating natural therapies as some dangerous threat to their control and as opponents of the profit motivated big business.
For anyone completely new to magnet therapy. One fundamental "law" in dealing with magnets is that Opposites attract and like poles repel, Magnets are said to have "poles" which is where the magnetic force flows out or returns to, the magnet. Most modern advocates of magnetic therapies refer to the poles as negative or positive. Often simplifying further by only referring to a colour for each side of a magnet , usually red or blue sides of a magnet.
To try and clarify this:- A north seeking pole (south) is +ve and red (This may be marked as marked as "N" on old magnets) this can be called the "Yang" side of a magnet
A south seeking pole (north) is -ve and blue ( some texts may refer to it as green side of the magnet)--.( This may be marked as "S" on old magnets) This can be called the "Yin" side of the magnet
Generally in magnetic therapy a +ve (red) side will stimulate and a -ve (blue) side will sedate or calm
Without wishing to add confusion, it should be pointed out that the terms positive and negative, when applied to magnets, are just like the application of the terms to the concepts of Yin and Yang. i.e. they do NOT imply good and bad. They do NOT imply one adds to and the other takes away. They are concepts to describe direction of energy, nothing more.
